Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Minimum of 90 undergraduate credits from an accredited U.S. college or university (any discipline)
  • Required Courses
    • General Biology – 8 semester hours (Embryology and Genetics recommended)
    • General Chemistry with Lab – 8 credits
    • Organic Chemistry with Lab – 8 credits (also accept a 4 term sequence of chemistry that includes Biochemistry)
    • General Physics with lab – 8 credits
    • Mathematics – 6 credits (may include 1 course in Computer Science, Statistics coursework is highly desirable)
    • English – 6 credits
    • AP or CLEP coursework appearing on the AMCAS application for which college hour or unit credit is awarded will be accepted to meet a premedical requirement though further coursework in biology and chemistry is desirable and may be necessary in order to be a competitive applicant.

    • Option 3: 3 individual letters (2 from science faculty, 1 from other faculty or another individual who can provide an in-depth evaluation and recommendation)

Interview

  • When: Most Thursdays from mid-September to mid-March
  • Each applicant meets individually with 3 admissions committee members for 25 minute interviews
  • Applicants meet with current medical students for lunch, discussion, and tour of facilities
