  • Scores older than 3 years will not be accepted.
  • All applicants must present scores from tests taken no later than January before matriculation.

  • Secondary Application
    • Applicants will be requested to complete the Secondary Application if the primary application is accepted.
    • At least 2 letters of recommendation from undergraduate science professors or a committee letter of evaluation

Evaluation criteria

  • Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement and potential as well as appropriate intellectual personal and social traits.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an interest in solving the problems associated with health disparities and should have experience working or volunteering with underserved communities.
  • Applicants should have competitive grades and MCAT scores: Science GPA of 3.0 and a MINIMUMtotal MCAT of 22 (Old MCAT) or 494 (New MCAT).

Interview

  • Interview invitation sent to roughly 300
  • Invitation sent 3 weeks prior
  • Held throughout the year: September to April, Tuesdays and Wednesdays
  • Type of interview: at least one 30–45 minute interview with member of faculty.
  • A typical interview day will include presentations detailing the HUCM curriculum and financial aid, a tour, a lunch and a question and answer session with students.

Timeline

  • August 15 - January 14: Invitations to complete HUCM Secondary Application are sent by email to Verified Applicants.
  • September through April: Interviews are scheduled.
  • December 15: Deadline for AMCAS Application.
  • January 15: Deadline for submitting HUCM secondary for applicants submitting AMCAS on or around December.
  • March 15: Interim Email is sent to students who have not been invited to Interview.
  • Beginning in mid-March: Final emails will be sent to applicants who are not being considered for an interview.
