Program Information

Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • It is not required to hold a Bachelors degree upon application, but preference is given to those who have obtained a Bachelors degree by enrollment.
  • Required Courses:
    • English composition and literature- two semesters or three quarters
    • Biology with laboratory- Work in general biology, general zoology, or botany is acceptable. Two semesters or three quarters
    • General inorganic chemistry with laboratory. Two semesters or three quarters
    • General organic chemistry* with laboratory. Two semesters or three quarters
  • Recommended Courses:
    • Strongly Preferred- Physics, Histology and Biochemistry; Clinical experience
  • It is highly recommend to complete an in depth study of the natural sciences for preparation for medical school.
  • AP credits will be accepted given that they appear on the official transcript of the undergraduate institution as well as does not make up more than 25% of the undergraduate degree.

Technical Standards

All candidates for admission for the M.D. program should possess sufficient physical, intellectual, interpersonal, social, emotional, psychological, and communication abilities to:

  • establish appropriate relationship with a wide range of faculty members, professional colleagues, and patients
  • obtain a medical history and perform physical and mental examinations with a wide variety of paitnes.
  • conduct tests and perform laboratory work
  • ultimately make logical diagnostic and therapeutic judgments

  • Average accepted GPA: 3.3 (B+)

MCAT

  • All applicants are required to take the MCAT.
  • Test results within the last five years are valid and taken no later than the fall by the end of September of the year of application
  • It is recommended that applicants consider taking the MCAT at least two times.
