Program Information

Curriculum

  • MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)
    • 5 years in length
  • Language of instruction is English
  • The curriculum follows three major sujects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Students can apply from anywhere in the world, with no reserved seats or quotas.
  • At least three subjects, must including chemistry and biology; may also include mathematics in lieu of physics
  • a minimum grade of B in each subject
  • SAT II (subject test) in biology, chemistry and physics/math: the minimum eligibility requirement is 650 in each subject

GPA

  • In order to apply, candidates must present evidence of satisfactory completion of Higher Secondary School Certificate with a minimum GPA of 3.25 assessed on a 4.0 scale, grade B, or 85% as assessed by their home institution

International Baccalaureate (IB)

  • IB recognized school
  • May apply if achieved a minimum of 32 points in the international baccalaureate diploma program.
  • Must have studied Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics at either higher or standard level.

SAT I

  • Required for candidates applying at a high school level
  • The university accepts both the old version of the SAT I as well as the redesigned version for the 2017-2018 academic year, HOWEVER the university will not accept the old SAT I scores for the 2018 admission cycle.
  • minimum score:
    • Old SAT: 1800 (550 in each of the three components: writing, critical reading, and mathematics)
    • New SAT: 1250 (600 in each of the two components: evidence based reading and writing, and mathematics; the essay component is not considered for assessment)
  • Valid for a period of two years from the date the test is written
  • The SAT scores must be received in the admissions office directly from the Education Testing Services (ETS) no later than July 21st 2017

MCAT

  • Required for students applying with an undergraduate degree
  • For the 2017 admission cycle, the university will accept only the new MCAT
    • minimum score: 120 in EACH of the four components: biological and biochemical foundations of living systems; chemical and physical foundations of biological systems; psychological, social, and biological foundations of behavior; and critical analysis and reasoning skills.
  • Valid for a period of two years from the date the test is written

Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC)

  • In addition to meeting minimum academic eligibility requirements, all candidates must meet the PMDC requirements for admission to the medical colleges

Supporting Documents

Applicants must mail a hard copy of the following documents to the admissions office in order to complete the application requirements:

  • Hard Copy of the online submitted application or the completed paper based application form
  • Two photographs with your name and attestation labelled at the back
  • Attested photocopies of mark sheets/official transcripts/general certificates as entered on the form
  • Attested photocopy of 'B' Form/CNIC/NICOP for applicants applying from Pakistan or relevant pages of the passport for overseas applicants
  • An extra envelope bearing your name, address, and contact number which will be used to send the admit card to you
  • Original payment receipt of the application fee
    • Application fee: USD $275

Application Process

Stage One

  • Submit application according to the eligibility requirements outlined by the university
  • Submit SAT/MCAT as applicable
  • Shortlisting of candidates based upon the scores from the tests above

Stage Two

  • Interview for shortlisted candidates
  • Completion of stage two requirements: Application form II; reference forms
  • Final selection - Rank order is based upon: review of scholastic achievements, interview reports, reference letters, extra and co-curricular activities, and other accomplishments.

  • Tuition: $25 100 US /year

  • June 5, 2017: Application deadline
  • July 21, 2017: deadline for receipt of SAT I and SAT II score sheets
  • August 1, 2017: deadline for receipt of MCAT score sheets
  • August 28, 2017: deadline for receipt of high school transcript/ A levels report/ IB report
  • August/September: shortlisting of candidates for interviews
  • Mid December 2017: Class commencement
