Admissions Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: 3 Years
    • For International applicants, a minimum of one year of study must be completed in an American or Canadian University.
  • Required Courses – should be completed in the U.S. or Canada
    • GGeneral Biology or Zoology (2 semesters)
    • General Chemistry (2 semesters)
    • Organic Chemistry (1 semester)
    • Biochemistry (1 semester - laboratory recommended, but not required)
    • General Physics (2 semesters)

    • Minimum grade/GPA: NA
    • Average grade/GPA of admitted applicants in 2013: 3.8

Supporting Documents

  • AMCAS application with all the required components
  • Complete official transcripts from all colleges attended. Transcripts should be sent from the colleges directly to AMCAS.
  • Yale Supplemental Application (by invitation only)
  • An evaluation from the applicant’s Premedical Advisory Committee, or 3 Reference letters (2 have to be in Science fields)
  • MCAT scores must be submitted in conjunction with the AMCAS application

  • Interview dates for 2013-2014 : Selected applicants will be invited throughout the course of the admission process
  • Type of interview : Meet with two members of the MD Program Committee on Admissions.
