Curriculum

  • 4 years in length
    • Note: Sydney Medical School will be awarding an MD or Doctor of Medicine to students commencing the medical program from 2014 onward.

    • Note – Firm offers are given to applicants who are already graduates and provisional offers are given to applicants who have not completed the final year of bachelor’s

  • The best MCAT scores will be considered
  • The MCAT must be taken before May 30 2013 to qualify for this application cycle. Scores older than 2 years will not be accepted.
  • GAMSAT (Graduate Australian Medical School Admissions Test) can be submitted

Evaluation criteria

  • International applicants who meet the minimum GPA requirement and minimum GAMSAT or MCAT cut-off are invited for interview
  • Applicants will then be ranked on the basis of a combination of admissions test results(50%) and interview performance(50%). This will generate a single ranked list of applicants.

  • May 22 - Medicine and Dentistry Information Evening from 6-7.30pm
  • May 30– Latest date to sit in for MCAT for entry into 2014
  • July 7– Deadline for online applications from international applicants
  • July 19-22 – Invitations to interview will be sent out
  • July 29 – August 2 - Interviews for international applicants at UBC
  • August 12– Notification of offers will start to be sent to international applicants
  • September 13-16 - Late round interview invitations will be sent to international applicants (if necessary)
  • September 23-25 Late round of international interviews will take place (if necessary)
  • September 30 - Notification of late round offers will start to be sent to international applicants (if necessary)
  • November - Online enrolment
  • February 2014 - Commencement of course for 2014 intake.
