Admission Requirements
General Information
- Majority of seats are filled by North Carolina residents
- In the class of 2010 out of 160 seats, 141 were filled by in-staters
- Offers MD/PhD and MD/MPH degrees
Criteria
Required Classes
- Biology (7 semester hours) at least one with lab.
- Cell and Molecular Biology or Genetics is recommended
- Chemistry (16 semester hours) with labs
- One semester of Biochem can take the place of one semester of Organic Chemistry
- Physics (8 semester hours) with lab
- English (6 semester hours)

- Averages of accepted applicants for 2007:
- Bio/Math/Chem = 3.65
- All other = 3.71
