Program Information

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD)
  • 4 years in length
  • Approximately 160 available seats
  • Preference to North Carolina residents. 20 non-residents accepted each year.

Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree (any discipline)
  • Required Courses
    • English (6 credits)
    • Biology (6 credits) – including one biology course with laboratory
    • General and Organic Chemistry with laboratory (16 credits)
    • Physics with laboratory (8 credits)
    • Note - AP credits are accepted as long as they appear on the official transcript. It is strongly recommended to take advanced level courses if AP credits were granted
  • Recommended Courses
    • Cell and molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry
