Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited university/college in the United States or Canada
  • Required Courses
    • Biology (6 of McGill credits)
    • Chemistry (8 of McGill credits)
    • English (6 of McGill credits)
    • Organic Chemistry (8 of McGill credits)
    • Physics (8 of McGill credits)

All required courses must be accompanied by a laboratory section except for English.

Note that the required courses must be completed with a grade no lower than a “C”.

  • Advance placement credits (AP) can be used to satisfy the entrance requirements and must be listed in applicant’s transcript.
  • Online courses from an accredited college or university are accepted.
  • No preference is given to students majoring in sciences versus students majoring in non-sciences

  • Letter of recommendation from the Premedical Advisory Committee or from the official Premedical Advisor
  • If no such committee exist, then letters of recommendation must come from 3 of the applicant’s undergraduate faculty (two letters from science faculty and one from non-science faculty)

Interview

  • Early decision interviews begin in October
  • Interviews occur every Monday and Wednesday from October 1st to March 31st
  • Interviews take place at the School of Medicine’s Baltimore campus
  • Interviews are given by an individual faculty or student Admissions Committee member or with faculty members.
  • Each individual invited will have two interviews
