Program Information

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)
    • Note that the MBChB is the qualifying medical degree for the UK
  • 5 years in length
  • 29 seats open for international students.

Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Required Courses [GCSE]
    • Seven subjects at C or above, with five at A or A*
      • English and Mathematics must be at minimum grade B
      • Physics and Biology must be minimum grade C
  • Required Courses [A levels]
    • Chemistry
    • Biology OR Human Biology OR Physics OR Mathematics
    • One other A level course (not General Studies nor Critical Thinking)
  • International Baccalaureate
    • Higher Level in Chemistry, plus one from Biology OR Physics OR Maths, plus one further subject
    • 37 points required overall
  • Note that the University of Manchester only accepts those with international GCSEs and A-levels or International Baccalaureate

Interview

  • Held in Manchester, Singapore, or Malaysia
  • Majority of the interviewers are practising clinicians
  • Approximately 60 minutes
    • First half: group task with other applicants
    • Second half: one-to-one interviews at three separate stations
