- General Chemistry – one full academic year (8 of McGill credits)
- Organic Chemistry – one full academic year (8 of McGill credits)
- Physics – one full academic year (8 of McGill credits)
- English – one full academic year with emphasis on communication skills
- All required courses must be taken with a lab component except for English
