Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- Degree: Minimum 3 years of undergraduate study in any major. Recommended a baccalaureate degree
- Required Courses
- General Chemistry (8 credits) with labs
- Organic Chemistry (6 credits)
- Physics (8 credits) with labs
- General Biology (8-10 credits) with lab and study of vertebrate zoology
- Note – courses in vertebrate embryology, genetics, cell physiology, or comparative vertebrate anatomy with labs can satisfy the General Biology requirement
- AP credits can be used to satisfy General Chemistry and Physics requirements
- Recommended Courses
- Mathematics
- Upper-division biological sciences
- Humanities and English composition

- Minimum: 3.2 (4.0 scale) – scores below this are generally not considered favourably for admission
- Average overall accepted GPA 2009: 3.74

- Academic performance is evaluated in context of other factors such as difficulty of courses taken and course load.
- It is not recommended to select courses for the sole purpose of raising the GPA.

- Applicant’s personal statement
- Letters of recommendation are required once the university has requested them. A minimum of three will be requested via AMCAS letter service including at least 2 letters from the applicant’s senior instructors.
- Secondary Applications are sent to selected applicants who have passed the initial selection. These must be received within two weeks.
- Statement of Authenticity
- $60 application fee for U.S. citizens, $80 for International students

Interview
- Interviews are designed to provide a chance for applicants to ask questions, sit-in on a class and meet current students, staff and faculty.
- Student housing is available.
- Two interviews are granted to the interviewees. Average interview lasts 40 minutes with at least one of the interviewers being a member of the faculty and the other, a current medical student.
