Applicants must be a United States Citizen, or have Permanent Resident status, to be eligible to apply to the UCSD School of Medicine

Course and Degree Requirements

Degree: A minimum of 3 years of undergraduate study, with one year being from an accredited 4-year American institution. However, the recommended amount is 4 years of undergraduate study.
Courses: There are no required courses, though the following are highly recommended.
- Biology (1 academic year - 2 semesters/3 quarters)
- General Chemistry (1 academic year - 2 semesters/3 quarters)
- Organic Chemistry (1 academic year - 2 semesters/3 quarters)
- Biochemistry (1 term - 1 semesters/1 quarter)
- Physics (1 academic year - 2 semesters/3 quarters)
- Calculus or Statistics (1 academic year - 2 semesters/3 quarters)
- Laboratory coursework for all courses offering corresponding labs
AP credit are acceptable
