• In-province/domestic students:

• Calculation method:
  • Courses taken during summer sessions are not counted in the full-time study requirement or GPA

  • Non-Albertans are ranked according to this formula: 2*GPA + MCAT(VR)
    • top 200-250 non-Albertan files are sent for complete review, cut-off for 2012: 3.76

Timeline 2013-2014

• July 15th, 2013: New application cycle opens
• Sept 10th, 2013: Deadline for having requested transcripts to be sent to the Office of Admissions.
• October 15, 2013: Deadline to release your MCAT scores to the University of Calgary
  • note:
    • This must be done online through the AAMC. It WILL NOT occur automatically.
    • You must re-release your MCAT scores for each new application cycle.
• October 15, 2013:Deadline to submit the on-line application.
• October 15, 2013:All transcripts, reference letters, MCAT scores and the application fee must be received. No extensions will be granted FOR ANY REASON.
• Week of Jan 21st, 2014: Invitations to and on-line scheduling for Multiple Mini Interview (MMI).
• Feb 22nd & 23rd, March 1st 2014: Interview Days
• May 15th, 2014 (Approximate): Initial offers of admission sent to successful applicants via email.
• May 30th, 2014: Deadline for responding to initial offers of admission
• May 30th, 2014:First waitlist offers sent out
• June 28th, 2014: Final transcripts must be received
• July 15th, 2014: Application and Applicant Manual will be available for the 2014 - 15 application cycle.
• July 24th-25th, 2014: Mandatory orientation for all incoming medical students
