Admission Requirements

General Notes

  • Three years of attendance at an accredited college or university, four years is recommended.
  • Priority is given to citizens and permanent residents of the United States
  • All applicants must submit an AMCAS profile.

Criteria

Required classes

  • The following year-long (6-8 credits) courses must be completed including their respective laboratory components:
    • General Biology or Zoology
    • General Chemistry
    • Organic Chemistry
    • General Physics

Mean Total GPA: 3.60 Mean Science GPA: 3.53

MCAT

  • The MCAT is required, and must be taken no later than the September exam one calendar year prior to application
  • Mean MCAT Scores for 2008 Entering Class:
    • VR: 10.3
    • PS: 10.9
    • BS: 11.1

Supporting Documents

  • A Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) Secondary Application must be completed.
  • 3 letters of recommendation must be sent

  • August 1, 2008: Early Decision Program (EDP) AMCAS Application deadline
  • September 1, 2008: EDP Secondary TUSM Application and Letters of Recommendation deadline
  • October 1, 2008: Early Decision Program Results revealed

  • March 2009: Letter of regret sent to applicants not chosen for interview
