Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: three years of course work from an accredited college (90 hours)
  • Required Courses
    • Biology – 2 courses with lab
    • 4 courses total of Chemistry
      • Inorganic Chemistry – one or two courses with lab
      • Organic Chemistry – one or two courses with lab
      • Biochemistry - one or two courses with lab (recommended)
    • Physics – one year with lab
  • Recommended Courses
    • Behavioral/Social sciennces - 2 courses; first year Psychology and Sociology courses strongly suggested
    • Statistics - 1 course
    • Advanced biology (200 level or above) - 1 course; Molecular and Cell Biology, Physiology, Genetics, Microbiology, Neurobiology
    • English composition
    • Other coursework in the Humanities and Social Sciences
    • Biochemistry Laboratory

  • Two semi-blind interviews, each 30-45 minutes long, are given by faculty, staff, students, or clinicians
