- Degree: three years of course work from an accredited college (90 hours)

- 4 courses total of Chemistry
- Inorganic Chemistry – one or two courses with lab
- Organic Chemistry – one or two courses with lab
- Biochemistry - one or two courses with lab (recommended)
- Physics – one year with lab
- Recommended Courses
- Behavioral/Social sciennces - 2 courses; first year Psychology and Sociology courses strongly suggested
- Statistics - 1 course
- Advanced biology (200 level or above) - 1 course; Molecular and Cell Biology, Physiology, Genetics, Microbiology, Neurobiology
- English composition
- Other coursework in the Humanities and Social Sciences
