Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Minimum of 90 credit hours completed in any major.
  • Required Courses
    • Inorganic Chemistry (with lab) (1 full year; 2 semesters)
    • Organic Chemistry (with lab) (2 semesters)
    • Biology (with lab) (2 semesters)
    • Physics (with lab) (2 semesters)
    • Math (1 semester)
    • English (1 semester)
  • Note that calculus is not required and statistics is accepted to fulfill the math requirement.
  • Writing Intensive Courses in any subject may substitute for the English Courses.
  • Advanced placement (AP) courses may fulfill the course requirements if the credits appear on the applicant’s college or university transcript.

GPA

    • Competitive Science GPA: 3.6
    • Non-Competitive Science GPA: 3.0
  • Mean science GPA accepted GPA 2016: 3.57

    • A highly competitive applicant has at least a 10 in each section

physical sciences or less than a 7 in the verbal reasoning section.

  • March 1, 2013: Suggested Deadline to Submit FAFSA – Accepts, Select Pool Applicants, and those without a Committee Decision
