Course and Degree Requirements
- Degree: Any bachelor's degree that was completed in a satisfactory manner in an educational institution located in the United States or Canada, approved by a regional accrediting body, and listed in the current Education Directory of the U.S. Office of Education.
- Required Courses:
- General Biology with laboratory: 2 semesters
- General Inorganic Chemistry with laboratory: 2 semesters
- Organic Chemistry with laboratory: 2 semesters
- Physics with laboratory: 2 semesters
- Mathematics: Calculus or Statistics: 2 semesters (2 of Calculus, 2 of Statistics, or 1 of each)
- English and English Composition: 2 semesters
- Demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written English
- AP and IB credits are accepted
- Recommended courses: Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Foreign Languages, Genetics, Humanities, Immunology, Microbiology, Physiology, and Social Science

- For early decision: 3.7 (and BCPM of 3.5)
- Note: BCPM GPA is calculated with course grade from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math

- Scores from more than three years ago are not accepted

- Letters of Recommendation from:
- (a) Health Professions Advisor or Advisory Committee letter with preferably three or more letters attached, or
- (b) Individual letters from science faculty (no more than two), and
- (c) Individual letter from non-science faculty (no more than one)
- (d) and up to two additional letters as desired by the applicant (physicians, researchers, mentors, etc.)
- Proof of US Citizen, or Permanent Resident Alien. (Preference is given to residents of the State of Florida)

Interview
- Interview by Invitation
- When: August to Feburary
- Where: FIU Campus
- The interview day is approx 5 hours and each of the two interviews are 20 minutes in duration
- Interviewers are blinded - meaning they do not have access to the applicant's files prior to the interview

- June 21: Last day for Early Decision Program applicants to take the MCAT
- August 1: Early Decision Program deadline for AMCAS application and official transcripts. Deadline for receipt of Secondary Application, letters of recommendation and any other supplemental materials for Early Decision Program applicants
- August-September: All interviews for Early Decision Program
- October 1: Early Decision Program applicants notified of decisions by this date
- Regular Admissions:
- May 1: AMCAS application is available online to be filled out. Transcripts may be sent to AMCAS
