Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- A 100 credits fulfilled at an accredited university
- Required courses must be completed prior to matriculation
- Required Courses
- Biology with Lab (6 credits)
- General Chemistry with Lab (6 credits)
- Organic Chemistry with Lab (6 credits)
- Physics with Lab (6 credits)
- Biochemistry highly recommended
- Credits earned through advanced placement programs are accepted
- A letter grade of C or better is required for these required courses

- Average scores (recent years): 31 (510)
- Scores prior to two years of application date is not accepted
- The January 2018 MCAT score will only be considered for the waitlisted applicants

Supporting Documents
- Application through AMCAS
- Secondary Application
- Applicants will be requested to complete the Secondary Application. This includes a supplemental questionnaire, letters of recommendation, a form to determine Virginia residency status.
- Virginia residents preferred
Interview
- Once all documents have been received, candidates will be called for an interview
- Approximately 650 – 850 applicants are interviewed each year from September through March
- 30-45 minute interview with board consisting of a basic scientist, clinician and a medical student

Tuition 2017-2018
- Tuitions are assessed the first day of class every year
- First Year (In state): $58,267 USD
- First Year (Out of state): $84,530 USD
