  • preference for admission is given to U.S. citizens who are Tennessee residents.
  • Applications are accepted from U.S. and Canadian citizens and those persons that possess a U.S. Permanent Resident Visa.
  • Eligibility for admissions shall be determined without regard to age, race, sex, religion, national origin, or handicap.

Evaluation criteria

  • Initial Screening
    • Upon receipt of your verified application from AMCAS, the admissions committee begins the initial screening process. This includes determining residency, evaluation of academic preparedness, MCAT scores
  • Screening for Interview
    • After supplemental is complete the committee screens the file again to determine if the applicant will be invited to interview. Invitations to interview are sent via e-mail.
  • Admissions Committee Review
    • After interviews, complete applications are submitted to the admissions committee for further review. This review usually results in one of three actions: acceptance, termination, or hold for further consideration.

Timeline 2013-2014

  • June 1 - November 15 of the year prior to admission.
  • participates in the AMCAS Early Decision Program (EDP)
    • EDP applicants are notified of admission decisions by October 1.
