- Class size: 108 (99 seats for Maritime applicants, 9 seats for non-Maritime and international applicants)

- Degree: completed 4-year full-time undergraduate degree (i.e. 5 courses per semester)
- 3 year degrees accepted in some circumstances
- No required courses
- Recommended Courses
- “Challenging” science classes (6-9 credits)
- Courses in humanitities and social sciences

- Maritime applicants
- Minimum: 3.3 (4.0 scale) based on the last two years of full-time undergraduate study
- Non-maritime applicants
- Minimum: 3.7 (4.0 scale) based on the last two years of full-time undergraduate study
- Average GPA for Class of 2013: 3.8

- One section can be a 7, but another section must be higher in order to compensate
