Curriculum

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)

Admission statistics

• Total number of applicants in 2015: 7802

• Class size in 2015: 159 (28.1% in-state, 71.9% out-of-state, international)
• International students are accepted. However, they must attend 1 year of premedical training at a US institution in addition to taking the MCAT.

Course and Degree Requirements

• Degree: Minimum 3 years of undergraduate study at an American or Canadian University (any discipline)
• Required Courses
  • Chemistry (6 credits) with lab
  • Organic chemistry (6 credits) with lab
  • Physics (6 credits) with lab
  • General biology (6 credits) with lab
  • English (6 credits)

• Grades of A or B should be attained in required courses
• Applicant should attain no lower than a C in required courses
• Pass/Fail courses are still regarded
• Average GPA: 3.83

• MCAT must have been written within 3 years of application deadline
• No "lower limit" score. Average MCAT score is 35.7
