Curriculum

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)
  • 4 years in length

  • Class size in 2013: 168 (50 in-state, 115 out-of-province, 2international)
  • International students are accepted. However, they must attend 1 year of premedical training at a US institution in addition to taking the MCAT.

Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Minimum 3 years of undergraduate study at an American or Canadian University (any discipline)
  • Required Courses
    • Chemistry (6 credits) with lab
    • Organic chemistry (6 credits) with lab
    • Physics (6 credits) with lab
    • General biology (6 credits) with lab
    • English (6 credits)

  • Grades of A or B should be attained in required courses
  • Applicant should attain no lower than a C- in required courses
  • Pass/Fail courses are still regarded
  • Average GPA: 3.78

  • MCAT must have been written within 3 years of application deadline
  • No "lower limit" score. Average MCAT score is 35.7

  • Three letters of recommendation (max. 7) are required.

  • June: AMCAS application becomes available
  • June-October: AMCAS applications are submitted
  • October 15: Deadline to submit AMCAS application
  • June-November: Application interviews are sent and secondary applications are received
  • November 15: Deadline to submit secondary application
  • December 15: Deadline to submit letters of recommendation and other supporting documents
  • Early March: Admission offers are sent
