Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: 4-year degree at an accredited American or Canadian university (any degree)
  • Required Courses
    • Biology (6 credits) – including lab (taxonomy, botany, and ecology do not count)
    • General/Inorganic and Organic Chemistry (12 credits) – including labs in both
    • Physics (6 credits) – including lab
    • Biochemistry (3 credits)
    • Calculus (6 credits) – required for those applying to the Medical Scientist Training Program
    • Writing skills (3 credits) – any introductory course with extensive writing
    • Only AP courses of General Chemistry and Physics will be accepted.

MCAT

  • MCAT must have been written within 3 years of application deadline
  • The September 11, 2012 MCAT testing date will be the latest exam date accepted (see the 2012 MCAT exam schedule) for the 2012-2013 application year. We will not accept MCAT scores from the January 2013 MCAT for the 2012-2013 application year.

Timeline 2010-2011

  • July, 2010: Earliest filing date for submitting the electronic secondary application.
  • December 15, 2010: Latest filing date for submitting the electronic secondary application.
  • July - December 15: Admissions receives and reviews Secondary Applications. Qualified applicants are electronically invited to schedule an interview at Case.
  • September - February: Interviewing season.
  • April 2011: Interviewed applicants "on hold after interview" are notified about alternate list decisions.
  • Apri 7-8, 2011: Second Look Weekend for the applicants accepted to CCLCM
  • April 8-9, 2011: Second Look Weekend for applicants accepted to the University Program and MSTP
  • April 15, 2011: Accepted MSTP and CCLCM applicants.
  • May 1, 2011: Accepted University Program applicants.
  • April - July: Case may accept students placed on the alternate list.
  • July, 2011: Classes begin.
