  • Degree: At least three years of study toward a baccalaureate degree
    • Required courses must be completed prior to matriculation

    • One letter from a faculty member in the applicant’s major
    • A second letter from a different science faculty member
    • Applicants are encouraged to submit 1 or 2 letters of recommendation from someone with whom they have worked closely (faculty, research mentors, volunteer directors, or employers)
  • Post-bac applicants must request a letter from the Dean of Students or Registrar at their college affirming good standing status
  • Applicants who have completed all of their pre-medical requirements prior to 5 years at the time of application must show evidence of participation in either academic or work experience in the biological sciences

Interview

  • Approximately 1300 applicants interviewed
  • Latest date for interview: April 30
  • Interviews can be conducted in Queens, Manhattan, or the Bronx, though applicants are encouraged to come to the College of Medicine (Bronx) and attend a noontime luncheon and a tour
  • Interviewer will either be a clinician or a scientist
