• 90% of accepted applicants are from Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, or Idaho
• Only considers applicants that are US citizens or Permanent US residents
• Offers the MD/PhD (MSTP) degree granting program

Criteria

Required Classes

• 8 semester credits of biology
• 12 semester credits of chemistry (inorganic, organic, or biochemistry)
• 4 semester credits of physics
• 8 additional semester credits of biology, chemistry, physics
  • A biochemistry course is recommended
• A broad background in both sciences and humanities is encouraged

GPA

• A weighted 3.5 is competitive
• In 2007, candidates offered positions had an average of 3.69
• Weighted GPA:
  • Where A = U0 GPA
  • Where B = (U1 GPA) x 2
  • Where C = (U2 GPA) x 3
    • Then weighted GPA = (A+B+C)/6

MCAT
