Admission Requirements
- Application through American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) by November 1st.
- Experiences shadowing physicians and/or volunteering in a clinical setting is recommended.
- Preference to Georgia residents. No more than 5 percent of the entering class each year are non-residents of Georgia

Course and Degree Requirements
- Preference is given to applicants with a baccalaureate degree in an accredited college
- Minimum requirement is 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours
Required Courses
- Biology: One academic year (6 credits) of general biology or zoology with lab
- Chemistry:
- One academic year of general/inorganic chemistry with lab
- One academic year of advanced chemistry, two quarters or one semester of organic chemistry with lab
- Other quarter or semester may be fulfilled by any advanced chemistry course (lab not necessary)
- Biochemistry is strongly recommended.
- Physics: One academic year of physics with lab
- English: One academic year of English
- Cellular biology and statistics are recommended, but not required
- All required courses should be taken on a graduated grading scale (e.g., A, B, C, D, F). A pass/fail type system should not be used.

Supporting Documents
- Submit three letters of recommendation to AMCAS before an interview invitation is considered
- The Admissions Committee will not review an applicant’s file without having received all three letters of recommendation.
- Three letters of recommendation include:
- One from the Pre-Health Advisory committee from the undergraduate institution
- Two personal references preferably one from a physician.

Interview
- Interview is by invitation after application and recommendation letters are reviewed
- Interview is conducted with one member of the School of Medicine Admissions Committee

Regular Admission

- Official transcripts deadline: Nov. 15, 2010
- Supplementary document deadline: Two weeks after receipt of application submitted in the student file by Dec. 1, 2010
- (Items include all residency data, required course listings and other specifically requested data such as letters of recommendation)
Early Admission
- Only Georgia residents will be considered for the Early Decision Program.
