Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Minimum 3 years of college of university study in any domain, although a Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Required Courses:
    • General Chemistry with Lab: Two semesters or three quarters.
    • General Biology with Lab: Two semesters or three quarters.
    • Mathematics (Calculus is recommended): Two semesters or three quarters.
    • Organic Chemistry with Lab: Two semesters or three quarters.
    • General Physics with Lab: Two semesters or three quarters.
    • Humanities: Two semesters or three quarters.
    • English Composition or Literature: Two semesters or three quarters.
  • Recommended:
    • Biochemistry is highly recommended

Interview

  • October – March
  • Begins at 8:00 a.m. with an opening session and breakfast.
  • Includes three 30 to 40 minute individual interviews with members of the Admissions and Ad Hoc Committees, followed by lunch with current medical students.
  • Concludes with a tour of one of the USA Hospitals, generally ending by 2:30 p.m.

  • June 1: Applicants may begin filling the AMCAS form
  • August 1: Early Decision primary application to AMCAS
  • September 1: Deadline to return Early Decision secondary application
  • October: Start of interviews
  • November 15: Deadline to complete AMCAS form
  • December 15: Deadline to submit Secondary Applications and last day of invitations for interviews
  • March: end of interviews
  • April 15: applicants not accepted will be placed on an alternate list or rejected.
