Program Information
- Master’s Program (MSc) - 2 years
- Must take 2 half-graduate courses at the 700 level
- Present thesis and defend in an oral examination
- Can transfer to PhD program within the first 18 months by taking a transfer exam
- Doctor’s Program (PhD) - 4-6 years
- Students must give 2 departmental seminars
- Present and defend thesis
- MD/PhD program also available
- 110 Graduate students in 2012
- Students can choose to contact a supervisor before applying OR opt into the rotations program

Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- Master’s Program
- Honours bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine, Microbiology, or Physics
- Doctor’s Program
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Students with A to A+ average in all four years of study and demonstrate research experience may apply for direct admission into the PhD program
