Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- Degree: a bachelor’s degree in a subject closely related to biochemistry (biochemistry, biology, chemistry, physiology, microbiology preferred)
- Required courses
- Organic Chemistry (6 credits)
- Physical Chemistry (6 credits)
- Cellular and Molecular biology (6 credits)
- Metabolic Biochemistry (6 credits)
- Adequate Laboratory (e.g. BIOC300D)
- One advanced level course in each of protein structure and function and nucleic acid structure and function

GPA
- Minimum CGPA: 3.0 or 3.2 in the last two years of full-time studies

GRE
- International students who have received a non-North American degree should submit a GRE score
- either General or Subject test in Biochemistry or Cell and Molecular Biology
- Minimum score: 550
- Strongly recommended
- TOEFL scores are required for an applicant whose mother tongue is not English, and graduated from a university where the language of instruction is not English
- Minimum score: PBT – 550, CBT – 213, iBT – 86 with each component not less than 20
- IELTS accepted with minimum overall score of 6.5 or higher
