Program Information

  • Minimum graduate research stipend is $21 700.00 annually and is the highest among the graduate programs
  • Teaching Assistantships are paid over and above the annual stipend ($3 000 - $4 000)
  • Master’s Program (MSc)
  • Doctor’s Program (PhD) direct-entry to certain first-class students
  • Application made directly to the Biochemistry Department


Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. Applicants in relevant area of field may apply but may be required to take additional courses in biochemistry

GPA

  • Minimum CGPA: Minimum academic standing is 75% cumulative overall average or upper year class standing.
  • For PhD applicants, First class or minimum 80% cumulative overall average in Biochemistry courses may apply for direct entry into the Ph.D. program.

GRE & TOEFL

  • International applicants are required to provide TOEFL and GRE English testing results.
  • Minimum TOEFL: 97 on iBT or 250 CBT or 600 PBT
  • Minimum GRE: 80% in each of 3 categories: verbal, quantitative and analytical writing
