Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Preference given to those who complete upper division science course beyond required courses
  • Required Courses:
    • Biology with lab (2 semesters)
    • Chemistry with lab (including at least one semester of organic chemistry)
    • English or a writing-intensive course (2 semesters)
    • Mathematics (1 semester)
    • Classical Physics (2 semesters)
    • Biochemistry ( 1 semester)
  • AP credits can count toward the prerequisites
  • Recommended Courses:
    • Anatomy, micriobiology, physiology, physical chemistry

GPA

  • No minimum but GPA of at least 3.2 is required to be competitive
  • Overall average GPA (2013): 3.66
  • Overall science GPA (2013): 3.62

DAT

  • Mean scores:
    • Academic: 20
    • Perception: 20
    • Reading: 20
    • Total Science: 20
  • DAT scores older than 4 years will not be accepted
  • The Canadian DAT is acceptable
