Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Minimum 3 years of undergraduate study (15 full year courses) deemed equivalent to 3 years of undergraduate education at the University of Toronto.
  • Required Courses
  • 1 year of General Biology with lab
  • 1 year of General Chemistry with lab
  • 1 year of Organic Chemistry with lab
  • 1 year of General Physics with lab
  • 1 semester of Biochemistry
  • 1 year of English

  • Minimum: 3.4 out of 4.0

DAT

  • The University does not have cut-off DAT scores available, although scores of 19 or more are considered competitive.

Timeline

  • 2008 Download AADSAS application from American Dental Education Association (ADEA) website
  • Spring 2008 Begin requesting letters of evaluation: one from a pre-health professions committee or three from individual professors (at least 2 from Science professors) and one from a dentist
  • 2008 Prepare personal statement for AADSAS application
  • Summer 2008 Shadow a dentist
  • June 2008 AADSAS begins processing applications (allow 3-4 weeks)
  • Supplemental applications may be downloaded
  • Sept. 2008 Interviews begin
  • Oct. 2008 Take Dental Admissions Test no later than this date
  • Dec. 2008 First round of letters of acceptance mailed to qualified candidates

  • Feb. 2009 UNLV Application deadline to submit AADSAS and supporting documentation Sept. 2009 Classes begin
