Program Information

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
    • 5 years in length
    • 966 applications were received for 75 positions available
    • Apply through UCAS

Academic Requirements

  • English language proficiency. The minimum level of proficiency is:
    • GCSE English Language grade B or above
    • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English grade B or above
    • International English language Testing (IELTS) score of 7.0, with not less than 6.5 in any one component
  • Entrance from high-school
    • A level: Grades AAA (including chemistry and biology at grade A plus one further AS level at grade B or above)
    • Unit grade information
    • GCSE: Six GCSE with minimum grade A
    • International Baccalaurete: overall 37 points
  • Other entry requirements (e.g. graduates with a bachelor's degree): minimum upper second class (~CGPA of 3.3)

  • Overall requirements
    • Personal Statement: address reasons for choosing dentistry, work experience, team and leadership experience, and manual dexterity.
