Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Minimum 93 credits completed at an accredited 4-year college/university in any major. A Bachelor’s degree is not required but recommended.

    • Inorganic Chemistry with Lab (8 credits)
    • Biochemistry (3 credits)
    • Organic Chemistry with Lab (4 credits)
    • Physics with Lab (8 credits)
    • Biological Sciences with Lab (8 credits)

    • Social Sciences, Humanities or Foreign Language (11 credits)

    • 3.0 out of 4.0 for non-California residents
    • 2.7 for California residents
    • Minimum of C grade must be attained in required courses

  • 3 letters of recommendation
    • one from a science professor, one from a dentist with whom the applicant volunteered and one from an advisor, researcher or mentor.
    • one letter of recommendation may be sent instead from a member of a pre-professional health advisory committee.
    • Electronic letters preferred, paper letters also accepted but must be originals on letterhead
  • $60 Registration fee ($ 80 for Non-U.S. citizens)

Interview

  • Students are invited for an interview once the school receives the applicants’ Secondary Application.
  • Interviews are conducted by a faculty member and a dental student.

  • September 15, 2013: Recommended last day to take the DAT in order for scores to be received on time
  • October 15, 2014: Application deadline
  • December – March: Notifications of acceptance are sent out
