Course and Degree Requirements

• Degree: Minimum 3 years of college study with Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 1 year of college and all dental prerequisites completed in the U.S. or Canada

GPA

• Minimum: There is no official minimum GPA set by the University, but a 3.0 is recommended.
• Average accepted GPA 2009 class: 3.7
• No priority for higher GPA students

• Minimum scores: There are no official cut-off scores set by the University.
• Average scores 2009:
  • Academic Average – 22
  • Total Science Average – 22
  • Perceptual Ability – 21
• Canadian and US DAT accepted
• DAT must have been written within 2 years of application

Supporting Documents

• Online AADSAS Application form
• 3 letters of recommendation: 2 from science professors, and one from a person who can assess the applicant’s abilities regarding research, lab work, etc.
  • 1 letter from school’s pre-health professions advisory committee may be sent instead
• Official post-secondary transcripts sent directly to AADSAS
• Official DAT scores

Interview

• Interviews are conducted at the School of Dental Medicine by two members of the Admissions Committee.
• Students should plan to stay the day at the School since the day lasts from 8:45 – 3:00 (including lunch, tour and information sessions).
• Applicants must bring:
  • High School Transcript (with SAT scores if applicable)
  • HSDM Supplemental Questionnaire
  • 2x2 passport picture
