Admission Requirements
General Notes
- A four year program leading to a DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine)
- DMD/MBA program also available
- For the 2007-2008 year, 35 students were admitted out of 1000 applicants
- No deferred admissions will be granted

Criteria
Required classes
- In most circumstances, applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree before beginning the program
- One year (8 semester hours) are required in each of the following:
- Biology (with lab)
- Inorganic/General chemistry
- Organic chemistry
- Physics
- Calculus
- English (composition preferred)
- It is recommended that applicants have two or three advanced science courses (ex. biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, molecular biology, genetics)
- Courses in the following areas are encouraged:
- Statistics
- Computer science
- Social/behavioural science
- Arts/humanities
- A foreign language

GPA
- Average GPA of admitted applicants in 2007 was 3.7
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is recommended

DAT
- Applicants are required to write the DAT (either the American or Canadian version)
- Results must be no more than two years old
- Average score for accepted applicants is 22 on Academic, 22 on Total Science and 21 PAT

Supporting Documents
- As part of the AADSAS application, applicants must submit:
- All official university/college transcripts
- Three letters of reference from senior science professors preferred (letters from professors of other disciplines, current/former employers and dentists may be accepted)
- Letters must have signature of author on the back flap of the envelope
- Once invited to be interviewed, applicants must submit:
- Official high school transcript, if available
- SAT scores, if available
- Supplemental Application (mailed with interview confirmation letter)
- 2 x 2 inch photograph

Application
- Application must be submitted through AADSAS
- Applicants must transcripts, DAT scores and information on awards, extra-curricular activities, work experience, as well as a personal statement (essay)
- Once selected for an interview, candidates must complete and return the supplemental application that will be mailed with the interview invitation

Interviews
- All interviews take place in person
- Interview conducted by two members of the Admissions Committee (faculty, DMD candidates and Advanced Graduate Education candidates)
- Applicants will attend a presentation by a member of the Admissions Committee on the school and its curriculum, as well as receive a guided tour and attend a lunch with other dentistry students

Timeline for Fall 2009 Admission
- May 15, 2008 – Application becomes available on AADSAS website
- September 2008 – Interviews begin (continue throughout winter)
- December 1st, 2008 – Earliest that letters of acceptances may be mailed
- December 15, 2008 – Deadline for application through AADSAS

Tuition
- For 2008-2009, full year tuition is 39 000 USD
- Clinical fee of 9000 USD a year for second, third and fourth year
