Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Undergraduate degree from an accredited 4 year university or college.
  • Required Courses:
    • 12 credits of Chemistry.
      • 6 of these credits must be Organic Chemistry.
    • 6 credits of Biology.
    • 6 credits of Physics.
    • 6 credits of English/Humanities.
  • The science courses must include laboratory instruction.
  • Suggested pre-dental science electives include comparative anatomy, cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, and physiology.

GPA

  • GPAs are not considered the only measure of a student's level of performance in school.
    • Also taken into account are the type of college attended and the relationship between grades obtained and DAT scores.
  • GPA Statistics for entering class of 2009-2011:
    • Average GPA: 3.61
    • Average Science GPA: 3.56

DAT

    • Mean DAT Academic Average: 19.58

  • There are no minimum DAT scores explicitly stated, however students should display excellent scores in regards to each section on the exam.

Supporting Documents

  • The Case School of Dental Medicine does not require a secondary application.
  • Apply online with AADSAS:
    • Applications are available after June 1 and should be submitted as soon as possible following that date in order to ensure full consideration by the Admissions Committee.
    • The Admissions Committee begins conducting formal interviews in August for entrance the following August.
