Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- Degree: Undergraduate degree from an accredited 4 year university or college.
- Required Courses:
- 12 credits of Chemistry.
- 6 of these credits must be Organic Chemistry.
- 6 credits of Biology.
- 6 credits of Physics.
- 6 credits of English.
- 12 credits of Chemistry.
- The science courses must include laboratory instruction.
- Suggested pre-dental science electives include comparative anatomy, cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, and physiology.

GPA
- GPAs are not considered the only measure of a student's level of performance in school.
- Also taken into account are the type of college attended and the relationship between grades obtained and DAT scores.
- GPA Statistics for the entering class of Fall 2010:
- Average GPA: 3.59
- Average Science GPA: 3.54
DAT
- There are no minimum DAT scores explicitly stated, however students should display excellent scores in regards to each section on the exam.

Supporting Documents
- The Case School of Dental Medicine does not require a secondary application.
- Apply online with AADSAS:
- Applications are available after May 1 and should be submitted as soon as possible folling that date in order to ensure consideration by the Admissions Committee.
- The Admissions Committee begins conducting formal interviews in August for entrance the following August.
- The application deadline is January 1st.
- DAT (Dental Admissions Test):
- Take the DAT no later than spring of your junior year in college.
- If the scores are not submitted, his is the only manner in which an otherwise completed file can be held back from review by the Admissions Committee.
- Forward letters of recommendation:
- Letters of recommendation should be forwarded to AADSAS from the pre-dental advisory committee at the applicant's undergraduate school or from two instructors in basic sciences.
- If a pre-professional committee is in operation at your college/university, it is the School of Dental Medicine’s preference that your letters come through that committee.
- Should such a service not be offered at your institution, then we ask that you submit a minimum of two letters of recommendation from science faculty (biology, chemistry, physic, zoology) that have taught you in class or lab.
- The national application service (AADSAS) limits candidates to not more than four letters of recommendation.
- Additional letters beyond those from science faculty could come from instructors in other academic disciplines or dentists with whom you have spend time observing/shadowing.
- Letters of recommendation should be forwarded to AADSAS from the pre-dental advisory committee at the applicant's undergraduate school or from two instructors in basic sciences.
- Send the application fee:
- Candidates should submit an institutional application fee of $45.00 U.S. made payable to Case Western Reserve University.
- Send official transcripts:
- The applicant should request that his or her undergraduate college(s) send official transcripts to AADSAS.
