Program Information

  • Master of Engineering (M.Eng)
    • Clinical Engineering specialization
    • Eligible to become Registered Professional Engineers with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists
      of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
  • Master of Science (M.Sc)
    • Involvement in a research/design project
  • PhD
    • Pursue advanced research in Biomedical Engineering
    • Candidates must pass qualifying and comprehensive examinations
    • Candidates must write a thesis based on an original investigation they perform


Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • M.Sc. and Ph.D. applicants require a degree in Engineering, a Natural Science, or a Life Science.
  • M.Eng. applicants require an Engineering degree
    • Masters applicants require a four year honours degree or equivalent
    • Ph.D. applicants require a Master’s degree or equivalent
    • A cumulative weighted average of at least 75% is expected in the last two years of study

Other Requiremnts

  • Admission requires the demonstration of English Language Proficiency. Students whose native language is not English
    must pass one of the following tests with minimum grade requirements:
    • TOEFL:
      • Paper-based test: 550
      • Computer-based test: 213
    • MELAB: 85
    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.5

Tuition 2009-2010

  • Tuition is $1030 per term
    • Thesis-based programs run three terms a year for a total of $3090 a year
    • Project-based programs run four terms a year for a total of $4120 a year
  • Student fees including optional health and dental insurance differ each semester
    • Spring and Summer - $7.50
    • Fall - $443.60
    • Winter - $103.10
  • For international students, an additional $100 is added per term only during the fall and winter terms.
