Program Information

  • Master of Engineering (M.Eng)
    • Clinical Engineering specialization
    • Eligible to become Registered Professional Engineers with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists
      of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
  • Master of Science (M.Sc)
    • Involve in research/design project using engineering/physics/mathematics to solve problems in the biological sciences, or in human or veterinary medicine.
    • Increase students' depth of comprehension in those areas that are directly related to their undergraduate studies.
  • PhD
    • Pursue advanced research in Biomedical Engineering
    • Candidates must pass qualifying and comprehensive examinations
    • Candidates must write a thesis based on an original investigation they perform
  • Post Graduate Diploma
    • 1 year, course-based graduate diploma

Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • M.Sc. and Ph.D. applicants require a degree in Engineering, a Natural Science, or a Life Science.
  • M.Eng. applicants require an Engineering degree
    • Masters applicants require a four year honours degree or equivalent with at least 70%
    • Ph.D. applicants require a Master’s degree or equivalent
    • A cumulative weighted average of at least 70% is expected in the last two years of study
  • P.G.D reguires four years of undergraduate study in a related field with a cumulative average of 65% of better in final two years of full-time study

Other Requirements

  • Admission requires the demonstration of English Language Proficiency. Students whose native language is not English
    must pass one of the following tests with minimum grade requirements:
    • TOEFL:
      • Paper-based test: 550
      • Computer-based test: 213
    • MELAB: 85
    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.5
  • GRE is recommended for foreign applicants

Tuition 2018-2019

  • Thesis-based/project-based programs run three terms a year for a total of $4,137.00/year (Canadian) or $6,536.46/year (International)
  • Student fees including optional health and dental insurance differ each semester
