Admission Requirements
General Notes
- 100 applicants are selected each year
Criteria
Required classes
- Require 10 full year undergraduate classes or 20 half course equivalents
- Must be completed before Dec. 31st in the year of application
- Although an undergraduate degree is not required, very few applicants without one are admitted
GPA
- Average GPA of admitted applicants is 3.5
- Most successful applicants have a GPA of at least 3.2
- GPA is calculated based on your last 20 half courses or 60 credit equivalents.
- Grades from graduate course work are not included in the GPA calculation.
LSAT
- Last acceptable writing date is in September
- Scores within the last 5 years are considered
- Most successful applicants have are rank in at least the 60th percentile.
- Average score of admitted applicants is 157
Supporting Documents
- Three letters of reference, two of which from academic sources
- Require a statement of interest between 500 and 1000 words explaining your interest in law and the University of Calgary.
- application form along with a non-refundable $100 application fee

- Documents may arrive after that date but no later than February 1st.
Tuition
- LLB tuition fees for 2006/7 was approx. $11,000
- Tuition (including fees) is $6106.89 per semester.
