Must have a bachelor’s degree
- 12 credits of 3rd and 4th year courses with at least an A- (UBC 80%)
- OR, overall average of B+ (UBC 76%) in 3rd and 4th year courses deemed as prequisities for the master’s program
English language proficiency
Sufficient academic background to carry out graduate work

Direct admission may be given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree with first class honours (or equivalent)
OR, Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of study in a Master’s degree with 18 credits of First Class average, 9 credits must at the graduate level, and at least 9 credits of First Class standing. Applicants must also demonstrate evidence of research ability/potential.
OR, Master’s degree with evidence of research ability/potential

2 copies of your transcript in sealed and endorsed envelopes
Permanent Residents: a copy of the Record of Landing Form, or a copy of the front and back of the Permanent Resident Card

Applicants from countries where English is not generally used must complete a TOEFL test (minimum score: 600 paper, 250 computer-based).
Applicants are required to take the GRE
