Admission Requirements
General
- Apply online at http://www.ualberta.ca/gradstudies/apply.
- PhD and two MSc programs (thesis based and course based).
Academic Requirements
- Honours degree in physics, engineering, mathematics, astronomy, geology or geophysics.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2 in last 2 years.
- GRE physics exam (not required but applicants are encouraged to take it and submit scores to the university).
Financial Requirements
- Tuition information available at http://www.gradstudies.ualberta.ca/regfees/index.htm
- For financial assistance, the department offers research and teaching assistantships, scholarships and fellowships.
- With an assistantship, students can be expected to be supported approx. $20,000.
Documents
- $100 application fee
- Two official copies of transcript and degree certificate
- CV/resume
- Three reference letters mailed directly to the department
- "Statement of purpose" describing research interests and goals
Other
- Students should contact the faculty members they are interested in working with.
Deadlines
- Jan 31st for admission in September of that year.
