Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree or equivalent from a recognized academic institution
- Preference given to students with a background in science, especially biological sciences
- Minimum undergraduate grade point average equivalent to 3 (on a 4 point system with the highest grade = 4) during the last 10 full course equivalents (30 course weights)
- Usually undergraduate grade point average equivalent to 3.2 (on a 4 point system) during the last 10 full course equivalents.
- Prospective applicants are encouraged to correspond directly with a faculty member, but applicants must first be accepted into the Departmental program before finalizing supervisory arrangements. A student will be recommended for admission into the program only if a suitable faculty member of the department is prepared to act as the student's supervisor.

Other Requirements
- Applicants with degrees in non-English languages may need to demonstrate English language proficiency

- Internet based test: 100 (at least 20 in each component)
- Paper based test: 600
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.5 (at least 5 on each band)
- CAEL: minimum score of 60 (at least 60 on each subset)
- MELAB: minimum score of 85

- Admission is done on a rolling basis for Canadians
- Preferably, submission of application materials at least three months before anticipated matriculation
