Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- Degree: Bachelor’s Degree (4-year undergrad)
- In addition, applicants are expected to have at least 1 year of full-time work experience
- Only 5% with no job experience were accepted in 2011

- Middle 50%: 165-171
- The LSAT should be taken no later than December; however, February LSAT can be used depending on how many seats are left for the incoming class
- If taken more than once, highest LSAT score is taken into consideration.

- A Need Access Application- must be mailed to the financial aid office at Northwestern

- A signed copy of the applicant’s 2008 federal income tax return (includes all schedules and W-2 forms)
- Grants, Scholarships, and Loans are also offered, however loans are offered only to US Citizens or Permanent residents.

Interview
- Interviews are optional
- October 1 – February 28
- Interviews are conducted by a member of the Faculty, a current student, or an alumni.
- 30 minute interviews
- May be interviewed either on or off campus
- On campus interviews are on weekdays between 9a.m. to 4:40p.m., and are on a first-come-first-served basis
- Interviews must be requested online one month prior to the desired date at www.law.northwestern.edu/admissions.

- Sep 1: Online request for off-campus interview
- Oct 1: On-campus interviews and Application for Admission filing begins
- Nov 15: Deadline for completed interviews for Early Decision candidates
- Dec 1: Deadline for completed Early Decision application receipt; deadline for requesting off-campus interviews
- Dec 31: Early Decision candidates notified of decisions.
- Feb 15: Deadline for application filing
- Feb 28: On-campus interviews ends
- March 1: Deadline for financial aid request
- Late May: final decisions made
- June 1: Transfer student application period begins
- July 1: Deadline for completed transfer student application receipt
