Course and Degree Requirements

• Degree: Applicants must complete a minimum of 60 university credits, but it is recommended to complete a bachelor’s degree

• All applicants must demonstrate reading ability and aural comprehension of both French and English
• The Admissions Committee seeks that applicants have taken courses that develop critical, analytical, and reasoning skills, as well as strong reading and writing abilities.

• Average grade/GPA of admitted applicants in 2013: 3.7

• LSAT is not required, but recommended as it provides extra information on the candidate

  • Personal Statement: two typed pages (single or double spaced), addressing applicant’s interest in law, and specific interest in McGill

Timeline 2013-2014

• September 1, Admission online application opens
• November 1, Admission application closes for most categories of candidates
• December, Latest LSAT testing recommended
• December-January, First round of offers
• January, You may be called for an interview (non-CEGEP candidates)
• March 1, Admission application closes for CEGEP candidates
• April 1, Candidates admitted in the first round have until this date to accept our offer and pay deposit
