    • Note that students with exceptionally strong academic records can be fast tracked directly to the Ph.D. program, though they must initially apply to the M.Sc. program


Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Master of Science
    • Degree: Four-year B.Sc degree in a relevant academic discipline
    • Required Courses
      • COMP 206 - Introduction to Software System
      • COMP 250 - Introduction to the Design and Implementation of Computer Algorithms and Data Structures
      • COMP 251 - Data Structures and Analysis of Algorithms
      • COMP 273 - Computer Systems
      • COMP 302 - Programming Languages
      • MATH 222: Calculus III
      • MATH 223: Linear Algebra
      • MATH 240: Discrete Structures
      • Four Advanced Courses (list can be found here)
  • Doctor of Philosophy
    • Degree: M.Sc degree in Computer Science

GPA

  • Minimum: 3.2 (4.0 scale)
    • If CGPA is slightly lower but the applicant possesses a superior record in Computer Science and Mathematics, his or her application may still be considered

GRE

  • Applicants are encouraged to take the GRE; however, it is not required unless the applicant did not complete a degree in Canada

Supporting Documents

  • Application Fee of $100
  • University Transcripts
    • An unofficial copy of your complete university-level academic record to date.
    • If the transcript does not indicate that a degree has been conferred a copy of the degree certificate (diploma) will also have to be uploaded.

• Transcripts in languages other than English or French must be accompanied by an English or French translation provided by the institution issuing the transcript or by a certified translator.

Two Completed Recommendation Forms

  • Official GRE/TOEFL scores (if applicable)

  • January 1st: Application deadline to be considered for financial support.
  • March 1st: Application deadline with possible consideration for financial support.
  • September 1st: Application deadline for the winter semester (Ph.D.)
