Program Information

  • JD Program:84 credits
  • 3 years to complete
  • 2014 class: 211 students enrolled from 6,099 applicants

Criteria

Required classes

  • Bachelors degree in any field in a regionally accredited university.

GPA

  • No cut-off GPA is listed
  • Class of 2014 median GPA: 3.75.
  • GPA 25/75 percentile: 3.62/3.84

Law School Admission Test (LSAT)

  • All applicants must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).
  • All applicants must take the LSAT no later than December
  • LSAT score must have be taken within the past five years
  • Duke requires you to submit all LSAT score, and will tend to look at the average score unless you can provide a reason why your more recent score is higher, only then will greater weight be put on higher scores.
  • If a score does not reflect your true ability, you may provide in an explanation in a separate attachment.
  • Class of 2014 median LSAT score: 170
  • Class 2014 LSAT score 25/75 percentile: 167/171

Admission

  • Reviewing process starts in October.
  • Decisions made on a rolling basis; most admissions made before March 1. Therefore it is suggested to apply as soon as possible.
  • All decisions finalized by end of April.

Deadlines

  • Application become available in august and may be submitted from the 1st of September 2010.
  • The application deadline for JD candidates is February 15, 2011.
  • Candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
  • Early decision deadlines are November 5th, 2010 (Round I) and January 7th, 2011 (Round II).
